Intertek Hi-Cad provides high quality 3D laser scanning services, which, combined with our CAD integration and viewing software, give your engineering design team reference in large amounts of 3D Laser Scanned "as-built" survey data.

To capture the data, Intertek uses a fleet of high speed scanners which send a laser light beam out in the horizontal and vertical directions to measure points at up to 500,000 points per second; this results in a high quality 3D laser scanned image which can then be used for planning new work. When multiple scans taken from different positions are combined the resulting point cloud image is dense enough to be classified as a "non-intelligent" 3D Model and can be easily referenced into several CAD platforms including AutoCAD, CadWorxs, AutoPlant, Microstation, Smart Plant 3D, PDS and PDMS.  This 3D Model can then be used by your engineering design team as a means of constructing and clash checking the new design. When providing 3D Laser Scanning on site it is vitally important to link the individual laser scans together very accurately using precise survey techniques. Our DIMES method of plotting a survey grid is the most accurate and using this approach we can guarantee the accuracy of our survey grid and the scans tied into this grid.
