Today Hi-Cad announces that it has been awarded a contract to provide Dimensional Control Management on the Shell Perdido Regional Host Truss Spar Platform (GoM - Alaminos Canyon 857) which will service the Great White, Tobago & Silvertip discoveries. The Spar will be built in Technip’s yard in Pori, Finland and the Topsides will be constructed in Kiewit’s yard in Ingleside, Texas.  Perdido Regional Host will be installed in 7,817 feet (2383m) of water, which will make it the deepest water Spar development to date.  The topsides will be lifted onto the hull in a single 9,500 ton lift by Heerema Marine Contractors.   BP/Shell has previously used Hi-Cad’s services on the Holstein platform and Shell has used Hi-Cad on the Mars recovery project (after the damage inflicted by Hurricane Katrina).

Hi-Cad will provide a Dimensional Control Manager (DCM) for the Perdido Project, who will be responsible for creating procedures and plans to facilitate standards and guidelines to be met throughout construction and erection in an effort to not only reduce and eliminate rework but to provide a plan for monitoring and controlling the fabrication through accurate and frequent measurement of the components of the platform.
