December 3 Hi-Cad Has has appointed Neil Duke as Manager of Business Development for its US Operations. Neil brings to Hi-Cad over twenty years in project execution, sales and business development experience within the O&G, Energy and Industrial markets. Neil began his career with Brown & Root and formerly has worked for firms such as AMEC, ABB, John Brown Engineers and Kvaerner O&E which included assignments in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Germany. Neil was an important factor in the introduction of close range photogrammetry to the North American Energy & Industrial markets for Kvaerner O&G. December 3 Hi-Cad Project to be Cover Article of December 2007 issue of Offshore Engineering Magazine. The Thruster Porch Project done for Shell E&P on the Kulluk – a floating drilling unit located in the Beaufort Sea (Arctic Circle) is to be the focus of an article in Offshore Engineering Magazine – the article was originally written and published previously by Spar Point Research (ISSN: 1553-8834; Tuesday, October 16, 2007 Vol. 5, Number 22). The project, to add Thrusters to the Kulluk to make it a Dynamic Positioning Drilling Unit, led to additional work for Shell on the Kulluk for Roger Burger (Roger passed away shortly afterward) and follow-on work with Frontier on the Frontier Driller. Stan Wiggins who was Corporate Planning & Scheduling Manager for the Thruster Porch Project for Frontier (Stan is now with InServ at ConocoPhillips Belle Chase) has used Hi-Cad in the past most notably on BP’s Thunder Horse (Semi-Sub Gulf of Mexico) and Mad Dog (Spar Gulf of Mexico) and Tracy Harris (Engineering Manager for Construction, E&P Projects, Shell Deepwater Development) is planning to use Hi-Cad’s services on another project in Malaysia in 2008.
Currently Hi-Cad have a contract with Shell International E&P (SIEP) on the Perdido Regional Spar (Gulf of Mexico) through 2010 and recently provided Laser Scanning Services at ConocoPhillips Belle Chase on the Wet Gas Scrubber Project - Stan Wiggins is currently providing Planning, Scheduling and Cost Control Services for InServ on the project.

October 16 Hi-Cad has been awarded a four year contract to provide Dimensional Control Management & Services on the BP Operation Canadian Crude Project in the Whiting Indiana Refinery. The project will involve several phases with hundreds of modules and pieces of equipment being Engineered and Designed by several firms including Fluor, Foster Wheeler and Jacobs. Hi-Cad began providing services in the BP Whiting Refinery in 1998 and has provided services on several projects since.

Hi-Cad will provide a Dimensional Control Manager (DCM) to instil a "fit first time" DC philosophy as well as provide procedures, review results, liaise between suppliers and projects as well as schedule audits. Hi-Cad have provided similar services in the Chocolate Bayou, TX, Decatur, AL and Texas City, TX Refineries.
October 9  Hi-Cad at ISEIT 2007 : October 9 - 10, London Hi-Cad will be co-exhibiting with Z+F to show its’ ability to display laser scan data inside PDMS design and review tools. Hi-CAD is a technical partner of Aveva and has worked closely with Aveva and Z+F since 2005 to develop the successful import of laser scan data into Aveva software for design and review purposes.
September 24 Hi-Cad has been contracted to provide third-party verification services to Gulf Marine Fabricators (owned by Gulf Island Fabricators) and Gulf Island Fabricators on the Chevron Tombua-Landana Compliant Piled Tower Block 14 Angola Project. Hi-Cad have worked for GMF previously on BP's Holstein Spar Platform and at the Gulf Island Fabricators yard for Atlantia on the Neptune TLP.
Hi-Cad will provide a two-man team to travel between the sites during construction to provide a third-party review of the dimensional measurement results.
April 23 Today Hi-Cad announced that it has been awarded a contract with DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co, Ltd) to provide Dimensional Control Management on the Chevron Tombua-Landana Compliant Piled Tower (Block 14 Angola). The Topsides will be built in DSME's yard and the Tower will be built in two sections - the bottom section in Gulf Marine Fabricators (owned by Gulf Island Fabricators) in Aransas Pass, TX and the top section in Gulf Island Fabricators Houma, LA yard. The tower will be located in 1440' (440m)
